The Board of Directors

The Board of Directors of Dematic consists of Chairman Gordon Riske, Christian Harm, Thomas Fischer, Christophe Lautray, Jan Vercammen and Marc Guns.

Gordon Riske (CEO, KION Group)

Gordon Riske (°1957) has been CEO of KION Group since 2008. Since January 2015 he is also the CEO of the Company’s premium brands Linde and STILL. He graduated in electrical engineering in 1981 at the Lawrence Institute of Technology in Southfield/Michigan (USA) and received further training in business administration at the Oekreal School of Business and the Graduate School of Business Administration in Zurich, Switzerland.

In 2007, he joined the KION Group’s executive board as Chairman of the Management Board of Linde Material Handling. Before joining the KION Group he held the position as Chairman of the Management Board of Deutz AG and as Managing Director at KUKA Robert GmbH. Gordon Riske is the chairman of the Board of Directors of Dematic.

Christian Harm (VP Strategy & Business Development, KION Group)

Christian Harm (°1968) has been the KION Group’s VP Strategy and Business Development since 2012. He graduated in 1991 in business administration at the University of Vienna. He started his career in 1992 at Unilever GmbH, Vienna, with various commercial positions (Head of Controlling, Head of Finance/Accounting, Head of Purchasing). Before joining first Linde AG in 2003 and then the KION Group in 2006 he worked at McKinsey & Company in Cologne and Vienna as Consultant.

Thomas A. Fischer (CSO, STILL)

Thomas A. Fischer (°1959) has been holding the positon as Chief Sales Officer of STILL GmbH since 2010. After having graduated in history, romance philology and marketing, he started his career in 1988, working in various sales and marketing positions at Fa. Lenze GmbH, Mercedes-Benz and Renault Heavy Trucks. He joined STILL in 1995 where he held positions as head of the export department, the sales division for eastern Europe/ROW and later for western Europe/Asia as well as managing director of the company’s subsidiary in UK and France.

Christophe Lautray (CSO, Linde Material Handling)

Christophe Lautray (°1962) has been the Chief Sales Officer of Linde Material Handling GmbH since 2009. He graduated in 1987 in business management at the Ecole Supèrieure des Sciences Economiques et Commerciales in Paris. Before joining Fenwick Linde in 1991, he started his career at Saft–Alcatel Group in 1986 in the international marketing department. At Fenwick, he joined the Management Board in 2004, at first as Managing Director (COO) and in 2006 as Senior Sales Director.


Jan Vercammen (CEO, Dematic)

Jan Vercammen (°1968) has been CEO and Managing Director of Dematic since 2007. He graduated as a Civil Engineer in Electro-technical Mechanics in 1993 and received further training in Marketing and R&D from the Harvard Business School, INSEAD and the Vlerick School for Management. He started at Egemin in 1994 and became R&D Team Manager a few years later. In 2003 he became Vice President of Marketing & Technology and a member of Egemin's Management Team.

Jan Vercammen is also a member of the Board of Directors of Agoria, the sector federation for the technological industry in Belgium and sits on the advisory board of the IWT, the Flemish agency for Innovation. He is also a member of Karel de Grote Hogeschool General Assembly and sits on numerous other advisory boards.

Marc Guns (COO, Dematic)

Marc Guns (°1955) has been director of Dematic and division manager of its Handling Automation Division since 2012. He joined Egemin's Management Team as Chief Operations Officer in 2015. Marc Guns graduated in Electro-Mechanical engineering at the University of Gent (1978), specialized in Robotics at the University of Leuven (1983) and followed a master course in Supply Chain Management at the Vlerick School for Management (2000). He joined Egemin’s Handling Automation Division in 1984 as Project Manager and Technical Lead, and was appointed VP Operations from 1990 until 1999, when he decided to continue as an independent consultant and project manager for Automated Handling systems.

In 2005 he joined Van Looy Group, a consultancy and engineering company, specialized in the design of logistic and laboratory facilities, where he was CEO until returning to Dematic. Marc is also a member of the Board of Directors of the SJC high school in his hometown Aalst.
